Digitize DFW (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a local photo and video digitizing, restoration, and enhancement business owned and operated by David Ferring in Flower Mound, Texas. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we treat the personal photos, videos, and memories you entrust to us.
Information we collect
- Information you give us. When you call, text, email, or arrange a project, we may collect your name, phone number, email address, mailing or pickup address, and details about your order.
- The media you entrust to us. To do our work, we take temporary custody of your physical photos, albums, tapes, negatives, and similar items, and we create digital copies of them.
- Information collected automatically. Like most websites, ours may use cookies and analytics tools that collect standard technical data — device type, browser, approximate location, pages viewed, and how you arrived — to help us improve the site.
How we handle your photos, videos, and memories
- Your original items are never shipped away and never outsourced. Every step is handled personally and locally in the DFW area.
- Your items and files are kept as a single project and are not mixed with other customers’ materials.
- We do not view, use, share, or publish the content of your photos or videos for any purpose other than completing your order, unless you give us permission (for example, to use a sample in advertising).
- After delivery, we keep digital copies only briefly as a safeguard, then remove them. You may ask us to delete your digital copies at any time.
How we use your information
- To provide quotes, complete your order, and communicate with you about it.
- To arrange pickup, drop-off, and delivery.
- To process payments and keep basic business records.
- To operate, maintain, and improve our website.
Cookies and analytics
Our website may use cookies and third-party analytics services (such as Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity) to understand how visitors use the site. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s opt-out browser add-on.
How we share information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate, and only as needed:
- Payment services (such as Zelle, Venmo, or Square) process payments under their own privacy policies. We do not store your full card numbers.
- Website and infrastructure providers (such as GitHub Pages for hosting and Cloudflare for our domain, security, and email routing).
- Analytics providers as described above.
- Legal requirements, if required by law or to protect our rights or safety.
Data retention
We keep contact and order information as long as needed to serve you and meet ordinary business and legal recordkeeping needs. Digital copies of your media are retained only briefly after delivery, as described above.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information and your media. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we handle your originals with the same care we’d want for our own family’s memories.
Children’s privacy
Our website is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices and rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information and any digital copies of your media we may still hold. To make a request, contact David using the details below.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
